Beach policies prohibit any aggressive behaviour, but owners have been very mindful of the dogs they bring and we really haven’t witnessed any major incidents since starting our business here. If problems should occur we advise guests to move as far away from each other on the beach as possible. With that in mind small tiffs may happen but we must remember to keep cool and maintain a positive atmosphere for the dogs’ sake and for ours.

Dogs may use all areas of this beach as long as they are supervised.

Of course you can! Just be aware that others may freely approach you and your dog.

As per beach policies, dogs in heat should not come to the beach as unwanted behaviour may disturb guests.

The beach is designed as a place for people who love dogs and love a good time. We believe music is essential for a good time and it creates a vibe that we want to convey. Our music system is not loud but it is placed in such a way that it can be heard throughout the beach which some people may find confusing. This is not to be confused with loudness.

Yes, we have plenty of snack options available like croissants, sandwiches, mini pizzas, pancakes, ice creams…

The Crikvenica beach is located on a peninsula not far from public parking. Monty’s Dog Beach does not own or control the parking or it’s availability. We cannot give out change for parking. The beach in Rab, however, has its own car park! The Portorož beach benefits from ample public parking on the nearby main road.

The beach was here before us, we improved it to a much higher standard and gave it life. We cannot physically alter it and we don’t have permission to. Croatia’s strict laws are designed to protect the coast and no interventions are allowed without strong reasons. Personal preference is not considered a good reason 🙂 We make do with what we have and, as dog owners, we consider ourselves very lucky to be able to enjoy a place like this. Small an all!

We operate under a licence issued to us by the City, the licence is formulated by the government and we are not permitted to put any fixed buildings on the beach or surrounding area. The port-a-loo is the only kind of toilet we are allowed to have but since these toilets are designed to be eco friendly they seem to be a much better choice for us than a bathroom with sewage exhausts that pollute the sea.

We operate under a licence issued to us by the City. This licence tells us how many umbrellas we are allowed to have, as well as how many sunbeds. This number is subject to inspection at any given moment. As much as we would like to we can’t increase the number of beach equipment until we are permitted to by our licence.

In Crikvenica there is shade in the form of umbrellas, cabanas and giant umbrellas. All of these may be utilised through renting or the consumption of drinks. In total there is more than 100sq metres of artificial shade and there is also natural shade from surrounding trees. On the beach in Rab there is slightly less artificial shade but the beach is surrounded by cane bushes which is helpful.

The beach is man made and was constructed out of rock. The trees that have been lovingly planted here have grown a lot since Monty’s opened but they are still quite small and are just barely noticable but we are lucky to have them here and lucky that they have survived so far.

Tents are allowed in designated areas of the beach, please check pictogram if available, if not please ask a staff member.

Due to limited availability of sunbeds we prefer to operate on a first come first served basis. This gives all our guests an equal opportunity to secure a sunbed or cabana for the day and also the possibilty to change or keep their preferred spot every day.

We cannot accept payments in advance for services at this time.
