Dodo's story:

First day I laid eyes on Dodo, it was a last day of high school, I was on my bike when I saw him all alone in a crate in front of a vet’s. When I saw his sad face I knew I had to come back by foot and get him. My parents at the time didn’t want a dog because they thought a teenager could never take care of a hamster, let alone a dog..so my mom told me that the dog isn’t allowed in the house and for 2 days we slept together on a balcony, after she’d seen I don’t plan on leaving him all alone. She finally gave in. He was the best dog I’ve ever had, and my first ever love. I promised myself that I wouldn’t ever leave his side. I was taking him to work with me, to vacations with me and everywhere I went…he was always with me. He loved swimming, he loved tennis balls but his favourite “toy” was a half filled water bottle. He loved rolling in the autumn leaves and digging holes in fresh snow. When he was about 10 years old, we got him a brother, a little menace called Charlie. He wasn’t really happy about it, but sometimes when Charlie would demolish the trash can, he’d get his paws dirty too so it wasn’t that bad. Dodo left us when he was 16 years old, and it was one of the hardest days of our lives.. The day after, we saw a rainbow which we took as a sign that he is running happily somewhere out there. We love you Dodo <3
